In development
Adastra currently has a number of properties in development across various age ranges and genres. Negotiations with international broadcasters are progressing. We are also interested in talking to potential co-production partners both in the UK and overseas. If you would like to know more about the following properties on our development slate please contact us.
The Enormous Crocodile
The Roald Dahl Literary Estate has teamed up with Adastra to produce the first ever children’s television series based on a Roald Dahl book (see NEWS). The proposed series of 52 animated episodes will be faithful to Roald Dahl’s unique style of storytelling and the distinctive illustrations of Quentin Blake.

As the first collaboration in their magical creative partnership, The Enormous Crocodile is a quintessential Dahl and Blake creation. With timeless comedy set in a brilliantly surreal world, it represents a wonderful opportunity for Dahl’s legacy to be cherished on television, giving millions more children the chance to meet the Enormous Crocodile!
The Concept
When The Enormous Crocodile gets up in the morning, there’s only one thing he ever wants to do - eat up some juicy little children!
He’s thinks he’s the cleverest crocodile in the jungle, and comes up with all sorts of Secret Plans and Clever Tricks. But his Secret Plans are not at all secret and his Clever Tricks are definitely not clever so he always fails.
The Enormous Crocodile’s dastardly schemes are frowned upon by fellow croc, The Not-So-Big-One and thwarted by the other animals in the jungle - Mugglewump, Trunky, Humpy Rumpy and the Roly Poly Bird.
At the end of each episode, The Enormous Crocodile always gets a very physical and comic comeuppance. He ends up enhancing whatever activity the children are involved in that day, making things much more enjoyable for them, and much worse for himself! Instead of munching up children for his tea, the Enormous Crocodile might end up as a bridge to a beautiful picnic spot, or as the children’s favourite ride at the fair!
Adastra is currently in discussions with UK broadcasters and is keen to talk to further potential UK and international partners.
Little Red Things
Every forest has a secret. Some forests have big secrets. This forest has little ones. Little Red Ones........
Little Red Things is a “Big Idea” – a brand new cross media drama project designed to encourage children aged 4 – 11 to act out their stories. The Little Red Thing is an icon – the source of all creative inspiration.
Did you know that every time someone acts out a story, a Little Red Thing is born on a cloud. When it rains, down it comes. If you’re lucky enough to catch it, then you too will want to act out a story.
