Grandpa in my Pocket picked up the Best Children's Programme award at this year's Welsh Baftas.  This was the only children's category of the night and the prize was collected by co-creators and Adastra directors, Mellie Buse and Jan Page who dedicated the award to the Welsh talent behind the show's enormous success in particular the amazing Welsh production team and leading child actor - Jay Ruckley.

The Welsh Baftas recognise and promote excellence in the Welsh media industry and this award is a fitting tribute to the role Welsh expertise has played in bringing the BAFTA Cymru 2010 Best Children's Programme to the screen.

Adastra Creative are pleased to announce; Grandpa in my Pocket has been nominated for a Welsh Bafta in the Best Children’s category.  The awards ceremony takes place on Sunday 23rd May at the prestigious Wales Millenium Centre in Cardiff.

The producers would like to congratulate all the wonderful cast and crew who have really shown what TEAMWORK is all about!

Due to the huge success of Series 2 on the CBeebies channel from Tueday 6th April BBC1 will screen the series every weekday at 3.05pm. 

CBeebies will also be screening it again every Wednesday from 5pm as part of the 'Fun at 5' slot from Wednesday 7th April as well as every Saturday and Sunday at 10.15am and 3.15pm from 10th April.

The brand New series of Grandpa in my Pocket starts today and every weekday at 5.20pm on CBeebies. 

Look out for new characters Mr Mentor the Inventor and Floyd as well as lots of new guest characters such as Granddad Gilbert in today's episode, "Captain Dumbletwit's Toughest Mission Yet" played by legendary British actor Geoffrey Palmer.

Not only is Grandpa a huge success in the UK and Australia but viewers can now enjoy it around the World and some new fans have already told us how much they love the show.

The series has been now been sold to such countries as Canada, Africa, India, Poland, France, Italy, New Zealand, Finland and Iceland to name but a few; with more International sales being regularly made by distributors, Decode Entertainment.

The long awaited first DVD release of Grandpa in my Pocket will be out in the UK on March 15th.

Adastra Creative is delighted to  announce that Grandpa in my Pocket has
been nominated for the 2009 Children’s BAFTAs in the category of ‘Pre-School Live Action’.  

The company submitted the episode ‘The Robot to Beat all Robots’ for this award.  In this episode; Jason has been saving  up to buy a fantastic robot from Mr Whoops’ toy shop but Troy the spoilt boy  next-door gets there first.  Grandpa  puts on his Shrinking Cap and sets out to teach Troy a lesson…  

The award ceremony will be held on Sunday 29th November at the prestigious London Hilton Hotel.   Wish us luck!

This week sees the launch of Grandpa in my Pocket in Australia.  Children and parents alike will be able to watch and enjoy the adventures of Grandpa, Jason and all their family and friends.

ABC Australia is screening the series of 26 x 12min episodes and will broadcast each episode twice a day on ABC1 in the morning and ABC2 at lunchtime.

The series has also been sold to a number of international territories across the world including: Canada, France, the Far East, Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, Switzerland, Cyprus and Poland.

Since its launch on 10th February, Grandpa in my Pocket’s popularity has grown enormously and won over legions of fans, both young and old.  It’s this huge fan base that’s made it one of the most watched shows on CBeebies. From the beginning the series has received outstanding viewing figures, topping the CBeebies weekly chart with its first episode (Barb ratings week ending 130209).  It has since gone from strength to strength and several Grandpa episodes consistently feature in the CBeebies I-player top10, often taking the number one spot.

More recently, the show was rated at number 30 in the Top Multichannel programmes with viewing figures of 650,000 (Broadcast Magazine 060309), the only children's television series to feature in the chart. 

The Grandpa in my Pocket website continues to attract thousands of hits every day and receives hugely enthusiastic feedback from children, parents and even grandparents via its mailbox.
